From the Parish News – January 2018

FREDERICK WALTER JOHN ROBERTS - DIED 7th NOVEMBER 2017 - AGED 87 YRS

Frederick Roberts (Fred) was born in Broome (Suffolk). The family moved to a shareholding in Manor Road, Denton when he was a teenager. He worked on local farms until he served his two years National Service in the army. Following his marriage to Gwyneth Aldous (Gwen) they moved to 1, Chapel Corner, with their daughter Angela where he and Gwen spent the rest of his life.

Fred worked as a delivery driver for Basil Leeder's provender mill for 35 years and became well known and respected on farms around a wide area.

Fred and Gwen were very keen Norwich City Football Club fans for around 56 years, supporting both the First and the Youth teams whenever they could. Unfortunately, for the last 20 or so years they had to watch from the television screen.

A very devoted couple Fred and Gwen lived very full lives always willing to help others when they could. Gwen and their daughter Angela would like to thank their relatives and friends for their kind messages of sympathy - £176 was donated to the Air Ambulance fund in his memory.

We extend our sympathy and condolences to Gwen and Angela.
