Denton a village in South Norfolk, England

Extreme Weather

According to figures published at the end of the year, across Britain as a whole, 2022 was the warmest year since records began.
Denton certainly had to edure a long summer drought, causing problems for gardeners and dire warnings of potential water shortages. Luckily the rain returned before any hosepipe bans were imposed.

However, the most significant weather event of the year came on February 20th. A series of winter storms had swept across the area but it was the third, a mini-tornado codename "Franklin", that did the most damage.
It swept across the village from West to East. While a number of properties suffered minor damage, the occupants of several houses in Upland Terrace on Norwich Road felt the full force of the storm.
Roofs were ripped off, windows broken and more. A terrifying experience for the occupants.

Two days later the "Denton Tornado" made the front page of the EDP.
