Minutes of the Meeting Held on Tuesday 26th July 2011

at 8pm at Denton Village Hall

Present: Liz Cargill (Chairman), Roger Gibson, Terry Hanner, Peter Hill, Wayne Mayhew, Annie Whiteman, Pauline Sandell (Clerk).

Also Present: Two members of the public arrived towards the end of the meeting.

1. Apologies
Adrian Hipwell.

2. Declaration of Interest
Peter Hill declared an interest in item 7.

3. Planning Application 2011/1065 – Land to Rear of Thanksgiving Cottage, Norwich Road; Retrospective Application for Change of Use From Agricultural Land to Domestic Residential Garden and Amenity Land
After some discussion the following proposal was made:
Proposal; The application should be approved with a condition that no development for housing shall be allowed on any part of the land. Proposed by Peter Hill, seconded by Terry Hanner, all agreed except for Liz Cargill.

4. Planning Application 2011/1109 – Rose Cottage, Norwich Road; Two Storey Side Extension and Single Storey Extension to Existing Porch at Front
Proposal: The application should be approved. All agreed except for Peter Hill.

5. Authorize Higher Payment for Allotment Fencing
The estimated cost of fencing for the allotments has now risen to £334. Liz will ask Terry Townsend if he knows about the poles that can be used as posts, which may lower his estimate. It was agreed that £334 would be the maximum amount allowed to be spent on the fencing.

6. Final Authorization to Purchase Play Area Equipment
Liz Cargill had chosen two play area items, the Blue Whale and Yellow Vehicle, from Venture Playground but as Joy Playground could supply identical items she asked them to quote. The quote was slightly cheaper than Venture Playground but included the cost of installation. The quote was £995 + VAT. All agreed to go with Joy Playground. Peter will speak to Jeff at Joy.

7. No.1 Globe Close
It was agreed that a letter should be written to Saffron Housing with a copy to South Norfolk Council about the noise and pollution from bonfires and chimney smoke at the above address. Mention will be made about the age and health of the neighbours. It is helpful to keep a diary of the problems.
